About the U.S. M5A1:
The Light Tank M3 entered production in the Spring of 1940 and in the next
three years, many thousands of vehicles of this type were built in several different
production forms. The M5A1 was standardised in September 1942 to bring the vehicle
into line with the last production model of the M3 series, M3A3.
